KOH SAMUI, THAILAND

AVANI+ SAMUI RESORT

Our first stop was the Avani+ Samui Resort located on the south-west side of Koh Samui, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. The resort is very contemporary with two resort infinity pools and a direct access to the beach. My villa had a very comfy and spacious room with its own private pool ! Definitely a perfect holiday getaway in Koh Samui !

ISLAND HOPPING

The resort offers to their guests the possibility to hop aboard a traditional Long Tail Boat and visit the surrounding islands of Koh Tan and Koh Madsum. Even if the weather was capricious, it was such a relaxing experience as we got to do some snorkeling and enjoy a little nap on a gorgeous quiet beach !

SIEM REAP, CAMBODIA

FCC ANGKOR BY AVANI

Our second stop of the trip was Siem Reap, a city in northwestern Cambodia well-known for being the gateway to the famous temples of Angkor. I had the chance to stay in the stunning FCC Angkor Hotel, managed by Avani Hotels & Resorts. The hotel has a charming design with some authentic colonial architecture and you feel like you are in a haven of peace in the jungle. But one of its main assets is its very central location : the Temples of Angkor are only 10 minutes by car and the old town like the popular Pub Street is walking distance from the hotel.

TEMPLES OF ANGKOR

Enjoying a sunrise at Angkor Wat was on my bucket list for a long time and thanks to Avani, I ticked it off ! After an early 4 AM wake up call, our group took the car to buy the tickets and head to Angkor Wat, the most famous temple of the region which opens at 5 AM. I was impressed by the amount of people who were also going there for sunrise ! All of us gathered around the large ponds in front of Angkor Wat and waited for the sun to rise above the temples. This moment and the light were absolutely wonderful and I had so much fun shooting around for almost two hours ! We also visited the other stunning temples during the day as the tickets are valid for a whole day !

LOTUS FARM

On our last day, we were looking for a spot to capture the sunset and we found a lotus farm in the south of Siem Reap. We took the local Tuk-Tuk for about 20 minutes and we arrived in a peaceful place where locals were celebrating and enjoying life under nice cottages surrounded by lotus fields.

Huge thanks to the Avani Hotels & Resorts for inviting me and organizing this trip !
